Limerick Evening Post and Clare Sentinel

17 March 1829

The Kilfinnan Brunswickism we have already, with its expectations, laid before the public. The Catholics of that neighbourhood will now be gratified by a reference to our advertising columns, where will be seen a disavowal as to any concoction with the petition against their rights, by several of the respectable Protestants of the District. This, doubtless, will be grategully recollected. With respect to the Rector of Kilfinnan, we must express surprise that he should have suffered to remain uncontradicted the falsehood put forward at the last Brunswick Meeting in Limerick—that he could not proced from his Glebe to his Church, without the protection of a guard of Police. This was a foul misrepresentation, and why has not the Rector done his duty by the character of the people among whom he lives, and from whom he derives his support?

The Kilfinan Brunswick Petition

It having been widely circulated that We signed the Brunswick Petition, that is, gave our voice for perpetuating the miseries of this too distracted country, We beg to assure our Roman Catholic Counrtymen that we prize too highly the welfare of Ireland, their friendship, and their, and our own happiness, to sign, or give authority to any person to sign our names to so insidious and mischievous a document:—
Samuel ADAMS,
J. Grove WHITE, M.D.
Henry BAILY,
Henry CROTTY,
Thomas SHERLOCK,
William ADAMS,
John CROTTY,
Thomas W. SHERLOCK,
Thomas WALDWIN,
