The data in my extracts includes entries that interest me from various Irish newspapers from 1720 to 1865 sorted by family name. Simon's extracts references from Longford / Leitrim / Westmeath / Roscommon and were previously on his site LONGFORD ANCESTRY in a different format. They add some bredth and richness to my own efforts.
Main families covered by my extracts include CROKER, COOTE, DREW, SWAN and others with some relationship with them.
TYPE has the following values NPB = birth, NPM = marriage, NPD = death, NPA = advertisement, NPN = notice, NPS = news story

LC | 1824 | 3 | 31 | NPS | CROKER | Eyre Coote | Esq | On Thursday night about eleven o'clock the Watchman employed by Henry CROKER, Esq. Quartertown, near Mallow, observed fire vlose to the Demesne, and immediately called Mr. Eyre CROKER, his master's son, who accompanied the watchman to the fire, when they perceived that a stack of oats the property of a man named MURPHY, was in flames. MURPHY's house had also been set fire to, and but for the assistance of Mr. CROKER and the watchman it would have been consumed, and the inhabitants perhaps burned to death, for they were asleep. At great personal risk to Mr. CROKER, and those with him, the fire was subdued and some of the corn saved. It appears that Murphy, the unfortunate owner of the property thus destroyed, had incurred the displeasure of the Rockites by having taken the holding on which he now resides, after other tenants had been evicted and to whom an large arrear of rent had been forgiven. | NickR |
